As many of you know, Youtube surpassed one Billion (yes with a B) hits per day last week, making it one of only a few websites that can boast that success. Why does the world love Youtube? And how can you use Youtube viral marketing to your advantage?
Let me break down the math on one Billion hits a day just to give you a better idea of how Youtube can help grow your own website/blog/business. One Billion hits per day can be broken down to 11,574 views per second, 694,444 views per minute, and 41,666,667 views per hour.
I can only speak for myself, but would say that these are some of the reasons why many people love Youtube.
First, Convenience, Youtube videos can be watched anywhere, anytime by anyone.
Second, Connectivity, it allows people all over the world to connect with each other.
Third, everyone loves to be on camera. Much like articles and content, if you make videos that have good content, people will come. For instance, this channel that teaches how to apply make-up for different occasions. I don’t wear a a lot of makeup, but as you can see, she regularly gets over one million views per video. Michelle is creating content that people want, not everyone but a certain group of people.
Fourth, Its Free. There is nothing better to hear as a blogger/marketer/social networker than yes and free. Anyone can upload videos to Google and anyone can watch your videos, both options are free.
Making Youtube work for you.
Stay within your field of expertise. If you are a S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) pro, share videos on how to helps others become more efficient with SEO tools. On your blog you can share a video and also share an article which will tie the two posts together, which will drive traffic back and forth between the two. Reference your video in your article and vice-versa. Network marketing is about creating the largest web possible to catch people looking for specific information.
Create Good Content. People want information that will help them be more successful. If you build it, (helpful content) they will come. Content and Helpful information are what drive people to your website/blog/business.
